C. Diff figures make the case for a public inquiry

9.51.24am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 17th Sep 2008

Commenting on figures from the General Register Office for Scotland showing that the number of fatalities involving Clostridium Difficile has doubled over the last two years, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:

“The families of those struck by the C. Diff outbreak in the Vale of Leven hospital were very clear that this case resonated beyond Greater Glasgow.

“These figures make the case for a full public inquiry into C. Diff unanswerable.”
